Before the race I was calm heading into race day. I had been there before and knew that the day would be much different this time. I didn't feel the pressure to finish, let alone meet any time goals. I slept surprisingly well the night before and headed to race day jitter-free. For more on how I … Continue reading Race Day Report: Ironman Wisconsin at 20 Weeks Pregnant

Ironman Training Pregnant: Race Prep + Week 20
RACE PLAN Heading into race week and my 20th week of pregnancy, I was swinging between thinking "I wonder how far I make it on the bike before dropping-out" and "I can complete Ironman pregnant!" Ironman Training Pregnant: Week 14
This was an eventful week both personally and training wise. My husband left for a 6 week adventure across the world, I had two biopsies taken, I started a dairy-free trial, and it was the longest training weekend of the season (as will every weekend be for the next month). I've dug into my whirlwind … Continue reading Ironman Training Pregnant: Week 14

Before the race Training through my first trimester went as well as could be expected; it did leave me less prepared than I was last year for the Door County Half Iron, but I was still prepared enough to be successful. In reviewing last year's race plan, I decided to adopt the same goals (50 … Continue reading Race Day Report: Half Iron Triathlon at 12 Weeks Pregnant
